Daniel Bramatti is a former president of Abraji, the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism. Currently he is the editor of Estadão Verifica, the fact-checking unit of O Estado de S.Paulo newspaper. Before that, he worked for 12 years in Folha de S.Paulo newspaper as a reporter and editor. In 2008, he was hired by O Estado de São Paulo, where he was a founding member of the first data journalism team in Brazil. As a specialist in the use of data to cover Politics, public policies and civic issues, in 2016 he participated on the Panama Papers global and collaborative investigation. In 2018, as president of Abraji, he helped First Draft to create Comprova, the largest collaboration project in the history of the Brazilian press, in which 24 media organizations worked together to inform voters about misleading content circulating online related to the presidential campaign.
